When Franklin Roosevelt was 41, he was crippled by polio.  His mother urged him to retire, but his wife persuaded him to return to public life.  When Roosevelt decided to run for president, his opponents said his physical condition, among other things, made him unfit for the White House.

Do you think that a person’s physical limitations have anything to do with how well he or she can govern?  What qualities do you think makes a person fit to be president?

I don’t think it will limit the person expectation. Not every disease, race, or gender would affect being president. All we need as a president is someone who can solve problems for the people. Too decide the best ideas for the state as well, and not make it suffer more than it did.

No I don't think a person's physical limitations effect the way some one governs. They only things needed to govern is a right mind and the ability to speak your opinion on things of matter.

A physical limitation should stop anyone’s from running to presidency. Their mental health is more important than there physical limitations

I feel that physical condition may harm the way one governs . I think this because someone who may be in bad shape may not be normal mentally anymore , changing the way one views things . The best way to govern in my opinion would be to have a healthy human making the best options possible .

I do not think that a person’s physical limitations should have to do with anything on how they govern. A politician should only their brain and no more to do their job.

I think that if you are in a wheelchair or cant move your arms or legs fine but if you have a disease that can hinder your ability to lead our country and make you a liability isn't the best quality
I think if you can do right by the people of the United States and take care of America first then you should be considered a good candidate

If it is only a person's physical condition, then they can govern just as well as anyone else can. Qualities that make people fit to govern is their good personality and experience with being a leader or even is a natural leader. Their physical limitations have nothing to do with any of those things. Physical conditions are different from mental conditions which if it was mental then they would be unfit. not being able to walk doesn't effect how you are able to lead a country. It makes you a stronger person and even more fit for the position.

Not at all. The most important thing for a president (or any leader) is mental fortitude. Also, critical thinking is necessary to make difficult decisions. In most cases, physical limitations can be overcome more easily than mental ones.

In a way i do think a person's physical limitations have something to do with them governing. A person needs to be strong. A person also needs confidence and leadership and to look presentable .
