After Andrew Jackson became president, he rewarded many of his supporters with high-level government jobs.  This practice became known as the spoils system.  Many of Jackson’s critics objected to it and called it unethical.

If you were president, would you give your friends important jobs? Why or why not?

It depends if they were actually qualified for the job then I would but if I were just giving them jobs just because they are my friends and they are not even good at it then no

If I was President having people I knew and trusted in my cabinet would be a huge plus. However, I would only hire them if they were qualified for said positions. No amount of money towards the campaign would change how qualified a person is

If I was president, I would consider only my friends that wanted the job and I know would actually be a good fit for the job. I feel like a lot of people friends donT get hired at the same workplace because they don’t want a repeat of this to happen

It would have to depend on if my friend would qualify or be equipped for the job. I’m mean sure who wouldn’t want to have there best friend work at the same place you do, but if the interfere with work they probably wouldn’t be a great hire.
